Bissell SteamShot Review

Bissell SteamShot Review

We were looking for something to help clean the more stubborn messes that happen around our home such as grease, soap scum and hard water stains. That's when we came across the Bissell SteamShot. The SteamShot is reasonably priced and small enough to use just about anywhere in your home.

To use the SteamShot, pour distilled water into the measuring cup. Do not exceed the max level line, then pour into the steam shot. Next, plug in the SteamShot and wait 2 to 3 minutes for it to heat up. When the light turns off, it's ready to use. As the name implies, it's not a continuous steamer. It does about 10 seconds worth of steam per shot, then it needs to heat up again. It only needs another 15 seconds to heat back up for the next shot of steam.

The Bissell comes with several accessory nozzles including multiple brushes, scrapers and tips. The different color brushes are good to designate between bathroom, kitchen, etc. It helps loosen soap scum and grease without having to use excessive chemicals. For really tough grime, we'll spray a little Meyer's multi-surface everyday cleaner. The combination of the Meyer's and the Bissell will clean most things. For smaller tasks like sinks, grout, bathtubs and stoves the SteamShot gets the job done. If you have a heavier duty job or larger home, you might want a full size steamer.
