Instant Pot Green Beans & Bacon

If you want the ultimate side dish to pair with any holiday dinner, look no further than this quick and tasty green beans & bacon recipe. The whole process takes about 10 minutes using both an instant pot and stove top pan.

Green Beans & Bacon

Green Beans & Bacon (serves 4)

16 ounces of Green Beans

6 ounces of pearl onions

8 ounces of smoked bacon

1 cup of chicken stock (you could also use water)

Salt

Black pepper

Garlic powder

Crispy onions for garnish (optional)

Step 1:

Rinse green beans and remove any stems, then place them in the instant pot.

Step 2:

Peel the pearl onions and add them to the instant pot. Alternatively, you can use frozen pearl onions if you don't want to deal with peeling.

Step 3:

Add 1 cup of chicken stock, then seal the lid and press manual to cook on high for 2 minutes, followed by a quick release.

Step 4:

While the instant pot is doing it's thing, add smoked bacon to a frying pan on medium heat. Cook until crisp. The bacon should finish at the same time as the instant pot.

Step 5:

Remove bacon from pan onto a cutting board, do not discard bacon grease. Add green beans and onions from the instant pot to the pan and sauté on low heat. Cut the bacon into small, bite size pieces. Then add the bacon pieces back into the pan with the green beans and onions. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. Stir and serve. Feel free to top with crispy onions for garnish. Enjoy!
