Returning to your car at the store and finding a mysterious scratch on your door Is no fun. In Los Angeles, things are a cramped in parking lots and you street park at your own risk. There's nothing more disheartening than seeing a scratch on your personal property.
After searching online for a quick home remedy, we came across the Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit. The product claimed it could buff out superficial scratches and fade them or make them disappear entirely. The kit comes with 3 items: A 4oz bottle of ScratchX 2.0, a drill mounted pad, and an orange microfiber cloth. The bit of the drill mounted pad will fit in any standard drill. We used it with our battery powered Dewalt.
Make sure the scratch area is clean before starting. To buff out a scratch you simply add the ScratchX solution to the pad, work it into the scratch and go over it a few times. Then wipe the area with the microfiber towel. In our experience, some scratches came out completely and others were too deep and still remained. The deep ones faded a little, but will most likely need to be handled professionally. For light and minor scratches, the Meguiar's Scratch Eraser Kit worked great. You can try to take care of the scratch yourself for around $20. We hope this affordable scratch kit can help you remove any unsightly scuffs, marks or scratches.
