This is a nice whiskey alternative to an espresso martini for those prefer bourbon to vodka.
2 oz Bourbon
1/2-3/4 oz brown sugar syrup
1 Nespresso espresso pod (about 1.3 oz)
2 dashes orange bitters
orange twist or coffee beans optional
Step 1:
In a mixing glass add ice, bourbon, and syrup. Pour your fresh shot of espresso and add it to the mixing glass followed by your 2 dashes of bitters and stir.
Step 2:
Add large ice cube to a glass and pour your drink into the glass. Garnish with an orange twist or a few coffee beans. Enjoy your Nespresso Old Fashioned!
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
Step 1:
Place a small pan on your stove and add brown sugar and water. Bring to a low simmer stiring occasionally about 5-7 minutes. Turn off and allow to come to a room tempurature.
Step 2:
Pour into an airtight container. This can be stored in your fridge for up to a month. It's not just great in cocktails it's also really good in your morning coffee or latte.
