Nespresso Old Fashioned

This is a nice whiskey alternative to an espresso martini for those prefer bourbon to vodka.

Nespresso Old Fashioned

  • 2 oz Bourbon

  • 1/2-3/4 oz brown sugar syrup

  • 1 Nespresso espresso pod (about 1.3 oz)

  • 2 dashes orange bitters

  • orange twist or coffee beans optional

Step 1:

In a mixing glass add ice, bourbon, and syrup. Pour your fresh shot of espresso and add it to the mixing glass followed by your 2 dashes of bitters and stir.

Step 2:

Add large ice cube to a glass and pour your drink into the glass. Garnish with an orange twist or a few coffee beans. Enjoy your Nespresso Old Fashioned!

Brown Sugar Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup water

Step 1:

Place a small pan on your stove and add brown sugar and water. Bring to a low simmer stiring occasionally about 5-7 minutes. Turn off and allow to come to a room tempurature.

Step 2:

Pour into an airtight container. This can be stored in your fridge for up to a month. It's not just great in cocktails it's also really good in your morning coffee or latte.
