Ring Chime Tutorial

We received an early wedding gift from one of our friends that we were excited to use right away! In our place you can't hear when the doorbell is rung, unless you're within 10 feet or so of the door. We've missed package deliveries that require a signature on more than one occasion. With the Ring Chime I don't see that happening again!

Here's how you set it up:

Unbox your Ring Chime and decide where you would like to install it in your home to best hear it. We put it on our 2nd floor hallway. Plug it into an outlet in that area.

Log onto your Ring app and scroll to the bottom to set up a new device. A window will pop up, select the chimes option. Inside the box is a QR code, scan it now. Choose the base station you would like to attach to. Give your Chime a name and make sure to have your WIFI password handy.

You will need to allow the app to access your location temporarily. Make sure your phone is close to your chime device. The app will then ask you if the light is flashing green on your device. If it is you are ready to pair, connect to device. Select your WIFI network and enter your password. In about 30 seconds or less your device should connect and be ready to use!

You are given an option whether or not you would like to have an alert when motion is detected as well as when the doorbell is rung. We chose just the doorbell. You can then select your doorbell sound. There are over 2 dozen including holiday sounds. You can change these settings any time you want.

The Chime has worked out great and we love how easy it was to set up. We hope you found this tutorial helpful.
