TidyBoard Review

Updated: Jun 4

TidyBoard

We do a fair amount of meal prep throughout the week and we're always looking for tools to make life easier. We came across an ad on social media for the TidyBoard, which looked like a convenient way to prep fruits and veggies. The collapsable silicone containers can easily store your fresh cut food and are dishwasher safe for quick cleaning after use.

Our kitchen is very small. Counter space is limited and prepping food is always a challenge. We usually find ourselves cutting a few vegetables at a time and making multiple trips to the compost bin. The TidyBoard makes the whole process easier because of the way it's designed. The silicone containers can connect to the board and hang off the edge of the counter or sink. It extends the limited space we have. It allows us to easily sweep the scraps into a dedicated container that can be dumped at the end of food prepping.

The first version of the board is made of bamboo. We have the second version, which is made of Acacia. The directions that came with the board instruct you to treat your board with cutting board oil multiple times before first use. It's important to use a food grade cutting board oil, so there's no worry about the oil going rancid. It's a simple process that will take 24 hours for the oil to soak in. After that it's ready to use.

One thing we didn't expect when we pulled the board out from the packaging was there were two rough patches when we ran our fingers over it. Not a big deal as we can sand it down, but we expected it to be a little more refined. Also, we wish a strainer container was included in their basic board set. However, it is available to purchase separately on the TidyBoard website. Also in our experience, the board seems to dry out quickly with regular use and needs to be oiled every 2 weeks. It's just something to be aware of.

Overall, we would recommend this product for people who live in a tight space or for those who like to meal prep.
